BASIC CROCHET BEANIE WITH A RIBBED BAND

Hi Friends!

I made five of these quick beanies in two days at Christmastime. Seriously! Not only does the ribbed band at the bottom make these crochet hats look a little more manly, but it also adds a little stretch, fitting snugly, but not tight… and for little heads, allows room to grow.

Want to make these for the men (or seriously women too) in your lives? Here is the pattern for you! I have provided two sizes just like my basic beanie that I previously posted. Remember, if your child is five or older, they most likely fit in an average adult size beanie.

Basic Beanie for Adultish Heads

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in three colors (or for one color, just don’t do any color changes).
  • I crochet hook, or hook needed to get the right size hat. If you are a tight crocheter, you may need a larger hook, and if you are a loosey goosey, you’re gonna need a smaller hook.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, and other items as necessary. You know the drill.

Directions:

This hat is worked in rounds.

Rnd 1: With main hat color: hdc 8 in magic ring. Slip stitch in top of first stitch. Chain 2 (8)

Remember, if you want to make the hat a little smaller, decrease the amount of increasing rows at the beginning to six and take of a row or two at the bottom. If you want to make a hat for that man of yours with the gigantic head, increase in row nine as well and add one or more rows at the end, making the hat nice and big. Let me know how it goes. I am happy to help in any way I can!

Happy Crocheting!

Enjoy the Dance! ;D
